The KLR’s original “windshield” is purely cosmetic and provides zero wind deflection or protection. The KLR also has no dash/panel space for the touring essentials of GPS mounting, add-on instruments, switches, USB and cigarette power points, etc. We have made a solution.
The Windshield
Its as simple as remove & replace and you will have a raised windshield, with adjustable rake angle and a stylish light grey tint. Aside of making your KLR look like a dinkum dual sport bike, the wind deflection takes all of the buffet off your helmet, enormously improving ride comfort. This is a MUST for any long distance riding and our tests have shown zero wind discomfort, with an open face helmet and even chatting on a Sena phone link at 100kph, with no wind noise or discomfort.
The Dash
The dash not only encloses the space opened up by fitting the raised windshield, it is ideal for all those accessories which we all use and for which we all struggle to find a suitable mounting. Drilling in to your side plastics is not good for your bike’s resale value, it also leaves most items hidden behind the handlebars and it makes for a wiring challenge. Our dash is made of a perfect thickness aluminium, allowing convenient drilling, screwing, mounting for accessories. The wiring for your accessories then being directly at source and neatly done.
The shield is Polycarb to prevent shattering, with the kit parts and hardware all being powder coated aluminium or stainless. Corrosion free and all laser cut and bent to exacting standards, the kit is supplied to you partially assembled, really easy to fit and a quality investment for your KLR.
